Today we're doing something I don't do that often, baking on the smoker. Every once in a while, especially as summer comes around, I have a craving for Apple Pie. This recipe is super easy, made on the smoker, and delicious. Let's get to it.

Ingredients:

1 Box of Pillsbury Frozen Pie Dough

2 Cans of Apple Pie Filling

1 Tsp of Ground Cinnamon

1/2 Tsp of Ground Nutmeg

1 Tsp of Vanilla Extract

1. In a large bowl combine the apple pie filling, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.

2. Unroll one of the rolls of dough and lay in a well seasoned 10 inch cast iron skillet

3. Spread filling evenly in the pie base

4. Unroll the second pie crust and lay on top of the pie. Press the dough around the edges to seal the pie crust. Cut slits in the middle of the pie. This allows the steam that is produced from the filling to escape without causing your crust to become soggy.

5. Set smoker to 400-425 Degrees and place the pie in the smoker. Bake the pie for 40 minutes rotating halfway.

6. Remove from smoker and let sit for 1.5-2 hours

7. Serve warm with some ice cream on top or all by itself.

I love apple pie, and this recipe was delicious and so easy I'm sure we will be doing it again. I hope you enjoy! Keep Smokin'
